Minecraft was the first video game in history to sell 300 million copies

Mojang’s block-based sandbox Minecraft, developed by Swedish developer Markus Persson, was once considered the best-selling video game in history and has recently increased its lead over its competitors.

In addition, Minecraft will receive a paid supplement, Star Wars: Path of the Jedi, on November 7th, and the educational expansion Planet Earth III will be released in 2024, in collaboration with the BBC.

The very first version of Minecraft appeared on PC in May 2009. Since then, Block Sandbox has been released on most modern platforms including PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo consoles, iOS and Android.
