Microsoft developers continue to update the standard Windows applications, making them more modern and in line with the general style of the user interface of the upcoming Windows 11. This time it is the turn of the “Photos” tool, which is one of the image viewers, but is not very popular due to its modest possibilities for editing. It looks like Microsoft has decided to fix the situation.
Microsoft Product Director Panos Panay posted a short video on his Twitter account showing the updated Photos app. It looks like it will retain most of its Windows 10 predecessor, but with a more modern look and possibly improved image editing tools. Unfortunately, Mr. Panay did not disclose details regarding the possible appearance of new tools in the application.

I would like to believe that the developers not only changed the interface, but also improved the performance and stability of the application, since its version for Windows 10 is considered one of the most unfortunate tools built into the operating system. Most likely, the updated Photos application will soon become part of one of the test builds of Windows 11 and will be available to insiders. As for Windows 11 itself, its official launch is scheduled for October 5th.
