The Microsoft Surface Studio 2 hybrid laptop doesn’t get a significant upgrade to its 14.4-inch screen. It has an aspect ratio of 3:2, supports a resolution of 2400 × 1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The screen of the current Surface Studio model has the same characteristics. The device’s touch display continues to rely on PixelSense technology to support high-precision pen input.

The most important upgrade for the Surface Studio 2 concerns its hardware. We would like to remind you that the current 2021 model of Microsoft hybrid laptop has Intel Core i5-11300H or Core i7-11370H Tiger Lake processors, as well as a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti or professional NVIDIA RTX A2000 graphics card has.

The updated Surface Studio 2 model receives processors from the Raptor Lake series. You can choose from a Core i7-13700H with 14 cores and 20 threads and a frequency of up to 5.0 GHz or a Core i7-13800H with 14 cores and 20 threads and a frequency of up to 5.2 GHz. The nominal TDP of these chips is 45 W. In Turbo mode, their power consumption reaches 115 W.

The updated hybrid laptop also offers the choice between the GeForce RTX 4050 and RTX 4060 graphics cards. Both are based on AD107 graphics chips with 2560 and 3072 CUDA cores, respectively. The first has 6 GB of memory with support for a 96-bit bus, the second has 8 GB with support for a 128-bit bus.

The new Surface Studio 2 will also offer up to 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM. With the current Surface Studio model, you can choose between configurations with just 16 or 32 GB of RAM. Microsoft will also add a microSD card reader and a USB Type-A port to the Surface Studio 2, which are missing from the 2021 model.

According to WinFuture, the simplest version of the Surface Studio 2 without a separate graphics card will cost 2,249 euros. The price for the version with GeForce RTX 4050 starts at 2,729 euros, the price for the version with GeForce RTX 4060 and 32 GB RAM starts at 3,199 euros. The version with 64 GB of RAM will be priced at 3,700 euros. The VideoCardz portal points out that for this price you can buy a much more productive gaming laptop equipped with a more powerful graphics card. For example, the same Gigabyte AERO 16 OLED model with a Core i7-13700H, a GeForce RTX 4070 graphics card and a 4K OLED screen is now offered for $1,999. Users who prefer more compact systems can check out the ASUS Zenbook Duo 14 with dual screens (14.5 and 12.7 inches), Core i9-13900H and GeForce RTX 4060 for $2,399. These systems cannot be converted into a tablet, as is the case with the Surface Studio 2.

There are even fewer changes to the Surface Laptop Go 3 in the traditional form factor. The new product receives a 10-core and 12-thread Intel Core i5-1235U processor of the Alder Lake series with a frequency of up to 4.4 GHz. The current model offers a quad-core and eight-thread Core i5-1135G7 with a frequency of up to 4.2 GHz of the Tiger Lake generation.

The Surface Laptop Go 3 features the same 12.45-inch PixelSense touch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio. In the basic configuration, which costs 899 euros, the notebook has 8 GB of RAM and a 256 GB SSD.

The weight of the Surface Laptop Go 3 and the capacity of its battery remained unchanged – 1.13 kg and 5403 mAh, respectively. For the updated model, the company will offer new body color options. According to WinFuture, the new Surface Studio 2 and Surface Laptop Go 3 will be available in October.
