Microsoft will force an upgrade from Windows 10 21H2 to the final version of the operating system – Windows 10 22H2

Although the life cycle of the Windows 10 operating system is gradually coming to an end, there are still “vulnerable” versions that will soon stop receiving updates and will be history. In particular, Microsoft warned that from June 13, support for version 21H2, which will not receive quality updates or security updates, will be completely discontinued. Microsoft intends to use force to protect users from this.

Therefore, although Windows 10 22H2 already stops receiving new high-quality updates, all versions of the 21H2 operating system will be forced to switch to it. Updates for 21H2 will no longer be available after June 13th, and before that the software will necessarily be gradually updated to a newer version.

In addition, the company warns users about the need to install new software – Windows 11, if the hardware component of the computers allows it.

In the Windows Message Center, Microsoft reminded that Home, Pro, Pro for Education, Pro for Workstations, Windows 10 21H2 OS will reach the end of its life cycle from June 13th – on this day the last security update will be received ( as well as every update in the general).

But according to Microsoft, Windows Update will automatically initiate a quality update “on consumer devices and unmanaged business devices” that have reached or will reach their end-of-service deadline within a few months. In addition, the company recommended upgrading to Windows 11 yourself if possible.

As you know, Windows 10 22H2 will be the last version of this operating system and will end its life cycle in October 2025.
