Microsoft President and General Counsel Bradford Lee Smith on the company’s official blog announced that the American platformer will not leave the PlayStation without Activision Blizzard games.
Recall that the news about the transfer of Activision Blizzard under the wing of Microsoft raised doubts about the release of the publisher’s games on the platforms of competitors, but the company assured that they intend to honor all existing agreements.
As it became known, Call of Duty and “other popular Activision Blizzard projects” will continue to appear on PlayStation consoles even after their current contracts expire “Sony fans can continue to enjoy the games they love”.
Microsoft is also interested in taking similar action against Nintendo: “We believe this is the right decision for the industry, gamers and our business.”.
Microsoft chose to make such revelations in anticipation of antitrust demands ahead of its $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard, which is expected to close before June 30, 2023.
