Over the past few weeks, Microsoft has introduced several updated standard applications that have already appeared in test versions of Windows 11 or will be added to the operating system in the future. The next product on this list is the standard Media Player, which is not yet available to Insiders.
The Media Player application appeared during one of the recent broadcasts. The source suggests that it will replace the “Movies and TV” tool in Windows 11. However, the new application may be something more, since in the available screenshots of the Media Player you can see the button for shuffling the current playlist, as well as a tool for skipping tracks, i.e. … parameters that are not often seen in similar players. It may turn out that the developers intend to integrate a single application that will be designed to play video and music in Windows 11.
The app also contains updated user interface elements to match the modern style of the software platform. The play / pause button is large enough, other elements are smaller, but also made in a new style. Some controls have been moved from the right side of the workspace to the left. Note the use of the name Media Player, as in the past this player was one of the best solutions for playing video and audio.
The updated Media Player application is unlikely to be part of the first stable version of Windows 11, which will launch in a few days. Most likely, it will appear later and will first be tested by participants in the Microsoft Insider Program who use test builds of the OS.
