Microsoft launches Surface Gaming Laptop with 165Hz screen and Intel Alder Lake chip

The Microsoft Surface family of portable computers may soon have a model for gamers. Specifications of a laptop called Surface Gaming were available from network sources.

The source of the leak appears to be Microsoft itself. The laptop will get a 16-inch PixelSense Flow display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, a refresh rate of 165 Hz and support for Dobly Vision. There is a 1080p camera with Windows Hello support.

The computer will be based on the Intel Alder Lake hardware platform. The maximum configuration includes the Core i7-12700H processor, which includes 14 cores with the ability to process up to 20 instruction streams. The clock frequency varies from 2.3 to 4.7 GHz. The size of the RAM LPDDR4x can be 16 or 32 GB. The graphics subsystem includes a discrete NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti accelerator with 8GB of memory. Versions with GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics card and Core i5-12500H processor (12 cores / 16 threads) are also planned.

The capacity of the solid state drive can be up to 2 TB. There are Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 wireless adapters, three USB 4.0/Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports, a 3.5mm audio jack, an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, and ambient light sensor.

The dimensions are 357.37 × 245.11 × 19.55 mm, the weight is about 2 kg. Battery life – up to 15-16 hours depending on configuration. The operating system is Windows 11 Home.
