Microsoft is testing the updated Photos app in Windows 11 – it has been made more convenient

Last year Microsoft redesigned the Photos app to better fit the modern style of Windows 11. Now the software giant has released a beta version of the product with a new design and some other improvements. It’s made available to Windows Insiders on the Dev Channel.

Gallery has been redesigned to make it easier for users to browse, search, and group photos in the collection. If necessary, the application allows you to easily back up the entire collection through integration with the OneDrive cloud service. In addition, the application has a “Reminders” function that will help you remember the bright moments from the past.

Supports the ability to work with multiple windows and screens, as well as import images from external sources such as a smartphone or camera. Users can also view OneDrive’s available storage space right in the Photos app and add more if needed. The new app lacks the video editing feature. To interact with clips, Microsoft recommends using the Clipchamp video editor.

According to available data, in the future the new version of “Photos” will replace the current one. Currently, however, the updated application is only being tested with the participation of participants in the Windows Insider Program. It is possible that the application will undergo major changes before fully launching.
