Microsoft has released Paint for Windows 11 with an AI image generator, support for layers and transparency

This week the Windows 11 2023 Update was released, a feature update for the Microsoft software platform. It brought many innovations, including the updated Paint graphics editor, which supported layers, images with transparency, etc. At the same time, the cocreator function appeared in the editor, which is based on a neural network and enables the generation of images based on a text description.

The developers have added a Cocreator button to the toolbar. After clicking on it, a window for entering a text description and selecting the style of the future image will open on the right side of the workspace. After entering the initial data, Paint generates an image that can then be edited. The new tool is likely to be popular among users as it is quite easy to interact with.

Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to evaluate the capabilities of the Cocreator function in the near future. Users will have to download the Windows 11 22H2 update and then wait several weeks for the updated version of Paint to become available. Windows Insider Program members can access the updated Paint app.

As for other innovations in Paint, in addition to support for layers and images with transparency, the editor also received support for the function of removing the background from an image, which is based on a neural network. After removing the background, the user gets a cut object with a transparent background. Of course, Paint still cannot completely replace a professional image editor, but it is quite suitable for simple tasks.
