Microsoft has confirmed who the new head of Xbox Game Studios is

As it turns out, Alan Hartman, former head of Turn 10 Studios (Forza Motorsport series) and development manager for Forza and Fable, recently took over as head of Xbox Game Studios.

Remember that Xbox Game Studios is a merger of Microsoft’s internal studios, including 343 Industries, Turn 10 Studios, World’s Edge, The Coalition, Playground Games, The Initiative and so on.

“I’m excited to represent such an elite group of game developers in my new role as Head of Xbox Game Studios!” Hartman wrote about his appointment in a LinkedIn post.

As such, in the new Xbox leadership structure, Hartman will report to Booty, who will in turn report to Sarah Bond, president of Xbox. Phil Spencer remains CEO of Microsoft Gaming.

Microsoft has reorganized the leadership of its gaming division after the long-awaited completion of the deal to buy Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion – the publisher’s acquisition process took more than a year and a half.
