MediaTek reported strong revenue growth, driven primarily by strong sales of its Dimensity series mobile processors with an integrated 5G modem.

According to the results of May this year, MediaTek generated revenue of about 52.1 billion Taiwan dollars, or about 1.75 billion US dollars, up 26% from the same month’s results in 2021. It is true that revenue fell slightly compared to April 2022: the decrease was 1%.

In the first five months of this year, MediaTek received approximately NT$247.4 billion, equivalent to US$8.32 billion. Annual sales increased by a third, or 33%.

The performance growth is mainly due to good demand for the Dimensity 8000 and Dimensity 9000 series processors, which have been adopted by many well-known smartphone developers, including Oppo, Realme, OnePlus, Vivo, Xiaomi and Honor.

However, market participants expect MediaTek’s revenue growth to slow in June. This is due to the current situation, high inflation and declining purchasing power of consumers.
