In the fourth quarter of last year, MediaTek generated revenue of NT$128.6 billion, equivalent to about US$4.6 billion, an annual growth of 33.5%.

In 2021, the company set a new sales record overall – NT$493.4 billion or US$17.6 billion, which is one and a half times – 53.2% – higher than in 2020.

According to forecasts by MediaTek itself, the consolidated revenue for the current quarter could range from NT$131.2 billion (about US$4.7 billion) to NT$141.5 billion (about US$5.1 billion). If these expectations are justified, growth will be in the range of 2-10% over the last quarter of 2021 and 21-31% over the first quarter of 2021.

According to Cai Lixing, CEO of MediaTek, revenue growth will be driven by strong demand for 5G-enabled solutions. In particular, the company received numerous orders for the latest flagship processor Dimensity 9000. This partially compensates for the seasonal sales declines in some consumer segments.
