MediaTek has announced the T830 hardware platform designed to create various client devices with 5G cellular support. These can be solutions for mobile hotspots, fixed wireless internet access devices (Fixed Wireless Access, FWA), etc.
The platform contains a processor with four ARM Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz. It is possible to work with LPDDR4x / LPDDR5 RAM standards. eMMC 5.1 flash drives are supported.
The product includes a MediaTek M80 modem that operates in the 5th generation of cellular networks in the sub-6 GHz band. The peak data transfer rate to the subscriber reaches 7.01 Gbps. Of course, downward compatibility to networks of previous generations is implemented.
The T830 platform can work with the MediaTek Filogic chip family, which provides support for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth wireless communication. Among other things, support for 5G NSA/SA, Ethernet 1/2.5/5/10 GbE and GPS/BeiDou/GLONASS/Galileo/QZSS networks is mentioned.
