It is estimated that sales of SoCs for mobile devices increased by 3.6% in 2021 compared to 2020. The industry is split between five leading providers.

The market leader is MediaTek with a share of 46%. In other words, this company controls almost half of the shipments. It should be noted that last year MediaTek saw significant growth in the sub-$300 smartphone category thanks to its Dimensity 700/800 series processors.

In second place in the ranking of the leading providers is Qualcomm with a share of 35%. The company dominates the $300-$499 segment, where Qualcomm has a 65% stake.

Unisoc saw growth in the under $200 category. And in the $99 and under segment, the share was 26%.

Finally, it should be noted that HiSilicon returned 16% in the $500+ smartphone category.
