According to the source, the company does not intend to offer users an alternative to the Reels Play program but will continue to fulfill existing commitments within 30 days. “We are changing the conditions for testing the Reels Play loyalty program on Instagram* and Facebook*, as we’re committed to investing in building a suite of monetization solutions to help creators earn a steady income. We will examine whether we can introduce the program in a more targeted manner, for example in new markets.”— said the representative of Meta*.

Remember that the Reels Play bonus program was launched in 2021. She had to help Meta* compete with the already popular service TikTok. Initially, the authors of the most popular videos received large payouts, in some cases tens of thousands of dollars. However, throughout 2022, the amount of payments decreased, which was noticed by many bloggers.

After the closure of the Reels Play program, users can still earn revenue through other tools such as advertising and collaboration with different brands. The Reels bonuses were part of the company’s larger $1 billion program to incentivize content creators.
