According to sources named after the head of Meta* Mark Zuckerberg Zuck Bucks will not be a cryptocurrency. We are talking about digital tokens in the company’s applications – internal currencies work similarly in many modern games, like Robux on the Roblox platform. And if Roblox could build an impressive business on its digital currency, it would be Meta* will also try to repeat this success in their projects.

However, the company does not want to distance itself from the blockchain just yet – work is continuing on the implementation of NFT. We should expect to start a pilot project on Facebook as early as May* in two directions: in the first case it will be membership in closed groups, to which only holders of digital tokens will have access, and in the second – the ability to issue NFTs. About plans to implement similar solutions in Instagram* also previously reported.

Also meta* is investigating the possibility of introducing “social tokens” or “reputation tokens” that are assigned to users for their contribution to the development of certain groups on Facebook*. The provision of classic financial services by the company, such as loans for small businesses, is also not excluded.

meta representative* Lauren Dickson said the company is yet to make any official comments. However, she confirmed that as part of the development of technologies for the metaverse, what payments and financial services might look like will be explored.
