When Ubisoft announced a remake of the cult action-adventure Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time in September 2020, it was about to be released. Due to multiple transfers and a developer change, the project is as far from release as it was before.

Keep in mind that while teams from Indian studios Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai were originally responsible for producing an updated version of The Sands of Time, the game was transferred to Ubisoft Montreal in May 2022, who created the original game. It was reported that the new team will use the achievements of its predecessors.
How became known, a year after this announcement, the remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is still in the early concept stages. Ubisoft Montreal is recruiting, prioritizing, building prototypes, testing elements and considering incorporating fan feedback into the process.
With the exception of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Ubisoft has no other remakes of the series
The director of the remake, Michael McIntyre, emphasizes that in updating “The Sands of Time” for a modern audience it is necessary to maintain a balance between acrobatics, combat and puzzles, story and setting, and key narrative elements like a voice-over the narrator, creating a fairy tale feel.
A remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time was once developed for PC (Ubisoft Connect, Epic Games Store), PS4 and Xbox One. The actual target platforms are unknown. In the current year it is not worth waiting for news about the project – will not Games and at the Ubisoft Forward Show, scheduled for June 12th.
