Anicom has unveiled a watch that is a joint development with legendary game designer Hideo Kojima’s studio and NASA. They were named Space Ludens in honor of the studio character – Astronaut Ludens. His EVA suit created by designer Yoji Shinkawa served as inspiration for this watch.
The watch features a 316 stainless steel bracelet, the dial is engraved with the NASA logo and the front is adorned with Kojima Productions’ motto, From Sapiens to Ludens. Optionally, you can order a watch with a leather strap with a carbon fiber pattern. The back of the watch is transparent sapphire crystal through which the Miyota 8215 automatic winding mechanism is visible.
For $1,540 you can purchase the Rare Edition kit, which is limited to just 100 copies. In addition to the Space Ludens watch, this set also includes a carbon fiber Ludens mask as a souvenir.
Another 500 watches will be sold for $940. They are individually numbered on a metal plate.
Complementing the Space Ludens watch is the Ludens Sacoche, a $125 backpack from outdoor gear company Syzygy, and a $68 Space Ludens NASA t-shirt.
