Kaspersky Lab is creating a marketplace for applications for its KasperskyOS operating system

Kaspersky Lab develops a corporate catalog of applications for the operating system created by the company. The portal reports RSspectr referring to the words of the head of the department for platform solutions based on KasperskyOS Dmitry Lukiyan. It is already known that the project will be divided into three special blocks.

The first, called Developer Portal, will provide essential information about what KasperskyOS is, how the software works and how to code for the environment, Lukiyan said. The block introduces tools for software development, including SDK (Software Development Kit). The applications are reported to work only on KasperskyOS.

The second block is a portal for potential customers, where they can get acquainted with the applications that are already available. Finally, the third block is a tool “that allows you to manage the entire lifecycle of applications through integration with Kaspersky Security Center” – this is a scalable, centralized device management system. The company intends to monetize the project by selling license keys for Kaspersky Security Center. According to Lukiyan, the development of the catalog began as early as mid-2021, and investments have already reached $1.5 million in two years of cooperation – in addition to Kaspersky Lab, Infotex, Aprotech and MyOffice are participating in the project.

It is expected that the first product connected to the catalog will be the Kaspersky IoT Secure Gateway 1000 for the Industrial Internet of Things – we are talking about network devices for combining sensors and transmitting data from them. In addition, as reported in the laboratory, software will appear in the catalog “for all cyber immune solutions based on KasperskyOS”.

Before being published in the catalog, the application is checked: possible malware of the application, its compatibility with different versions of KasperskyOS and software compliance with the requirements for developers – the latter will be published in time for the Marketplace premiere. The launch of a fully functional version of the enterprise software catalog for the new operating system is planned for late 2023 – early 2024.

It was previously reported that Kaspersky Lab made its debut with KasperskyOS solutions in the international market.
