It’s worth mentioning that Starfield is available not only on Steam, but also on the Game Pass subscription (PC and Xbox). However, a similar statement applies to the special edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
The original Skyrim maintained its maximum daily online count above 30,000 for more than five years after its release (until March 2017), and Starfield started losing players after just two months.

When Starfield reached 1 million concurrent players (total across all target platforms) in early September, the Steam version had just under 300,000 people. In other words, the project is becoming more popular in the Xbox ecosystem.
Starfield was released on September 6th on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass (PC and Xbox). By the end of October, the game had more than 11 million viewers. The project was among the nominees for the Game Awards 2023, but only in one category.
