When Japanese studio FromSoftware announced Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon at the Game Awards 2022, some fans were concerned that the new installment would move away from the basics of the series and towards Souls action, following the success of Dark Souls and Elden Ring would move. Judging by the journalists’ first impressions of the game, this did not happen.
