Famitsu Magazine shared information on the sale of retail editions of games in Japan from March 21 to March 27 of the current year. Last week, Kirby and the Forgotten Land topped the list.

As revealed, Nintendo’s action-adventure platformer sold over 380,000 copies in the Land of the Rising Sun during the period, a record for the franchise.
According to information in Famitsu Video Game Sales Librarythe most successful launch of the Kirby series in Japanese retail until recently was Kirby Super Star Ultra (260.8 thousand copies) for the Nintendo DS.

For comparison, the launch of another week’s newcomer – otherworldly action film Ghostwire: Tokyo – barely surpassed 10,000 copies. A similar picture emerged in British retail.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Ghostwire: Tokyo debuted on March 25 of this year. The new Kirby is exclusive to Nintendo Switch, while Tango Gameworks is available for PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and PS5.
