In 47 minutes interview For the official Dungeon & Dragons YouTube channel, Vincke admitted that after the release of Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5 he considered that chapter of his life over and had already started the next game.
The developer hasn’t specified what kind of project it is, nor has he given any current sources of inspiration – all will be given away. Still, Vincke said that besides fantasy, he also loves science fiction.
According to Vincke the new game “sits [у него] been in my head for a long time”. Whether this project will appear in Early Access, like the three previous ones, the head of Larian does not know, but admits such a development of events.
Vincke previously said the studio would return to the Divinity: Original Sin series some time after Baldur’s Gate 3.
As for Baldur’s Gate 3, the hit RPG will continue to receive patches, expanded epilogues for key characters, and new features (inclusive). cross play). Vincke also hinted again that the game could potentially be a major addition.
This time the developer said that the addon doesn’t have to be a continuation of the main story. An expansion can deepen the central story and fill it with additional context.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is already available on PC (Steam, GOG), releases tonight (September 6) on macOS and PS5, and arrives on Xbox Series X and S before the end of November. The fifth patch brought back the lost lines of Mintar and new ones added.
