Irony of fate: For owners of AMD Radeon graphics cards, the stars don’t shine in Starfield

When the stars light up, it usually means someone needs them. However, not for owners of certain AMD graphics cards in the space role-playing game Starfield from Bethesda Game Studios.

Several other people with AMD graphics cards and the same problem responded in the comments to Yoraxx’s post. The author of the publication was able to reproduce the error PC gamerwith the RX 6950 XT and RTX 4080.

Apparently the problem occurs on some AMD 6000 and 7000 series graphics cards, and to a lesser extent (the stars are not visible from a certain angle) on certain NVIDIA graphics accelerators.

The situation is particularly noteworthy given Bethesda Game Studios’ exclusive partnership with AMD and the additional optimization that the company’s graphics accelerators have received in the game.

Starfield was released on September 6th on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass (PC and Xbox). Game director Todd Howard advised those with performance issues to upgrade their PC.
