Introduced a compact StarLite Mk IV laptop with various Linux platforms

Star Labs has announced the relatively inexpensive StarLite Mk IV laptop, which offers a choice of operating systems with a Linux kernel: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Elementary OS 6, Zorin OS 16, Linux Mint 20.2, Manjaro 21 and MX Linux 19.4 platforms.

The laptop is equipped with an 11.6-inch display with fairly wide bezels. A Full HD panel with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels is used. Above the screen is a 2-megapixel webcam.

The equipment includes an Intel Pentium Silver N5030 processor of the Gemini Lake Refresh generation. The product contains four non-multithreading processing cores and Intel UHD 605 graphics accelerator. The base clock speed is 1.1 GHz, the maximum frequency is 3.1 GHz.

The laptop has 8 GB of RAM and a solid state drive with a capacity of 240 GB. There is a USB Type-C port, two USB 3.0 connectors, a Micro HDMI interface, a microSD card slot and a standard 3.5mm audio jack. Backlit keyboard is mentioned.

Interestingly, customers can choose between the American Megatrends BIOS and the open source Coreboot solution. Power is provided by a 30.4 Wh battery. Pricing starts at $ 455.
