Remember that owners of Intel Arc GPUs could neither enjoy nor really play Starfield due to the abundance of problems at the beginning: the role-playing game either did not open at all, or after 30-40 minutes of inactivity.
Latest driver 31.0.101.4672 for Arc and Iris graphics cards, released on the night of September 4th, does not have WHQL certification and Need to fix “some instabilities and visual artifacts” while playing Starfield.
By temporarily increasing the size of the driver package “significantly reduced” Loading time of Starfield. Additionally, Intel has fixed the game’s crashes on startup and during gameplay, as well as texture distortions and flickering scenes.
In order to get the best experience in Starfield, it is currently recommended that graphics card owners set their graphics settings no higher than High. In addition, the game still has a number of serious problems:
- game instability in some zones;
- distortion when using dynamic resolution (workaround is to change the value of the “Render Resolution Scale” slider);
- flickering textures on light sources;
- Low texture detail on some objects.
Intel keeps going “Strive to keep improving the overall Starfield gaming experience for Intel Arc users.”. The next driver update is expected later this week.
Starfield is available now for Premium and Collector’s Edition buyers and will unlock for standard owners on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X and S, and Game Pass (PC and Xbox) on September 6th.
