Intel introduced N-series processors for low-cost laptops – they don’t have powerful cores

In addition to the mobile processors of the Raptor Lake-HX, Raptor Lake-H, Raptor Lake-P and Raptor Lake-U series, Intel today also introduced N-series mobile chips for affordable laptops. These processors are characterized by the complete absence of large productive Raptor Cove P cores and only four to eight energy-efficient Gracemont E cores.

The new line of Intel N processors includes four models: quad-core Intel processor N100 and Intel processor N200 (formerly Celeron) with frequencies up to 3.4 and 3.7 GHz, as well as eight-core Core i3 N-300 and Core i3 N- 305 with a frequency of up to 3.8 GHz. The presented solutions do not support multithreading technology. New goods have a TDP value of 6 to 15 watts.

The processors received 6 MB of L3 cache and up to 32 execution units of integrated graphics on the Xe-LP architecture, operating at a frequency of 750 to 1250 MHz. The integrated graphics core of the N-series processors supports basic AI algorithms and technologies, such as B. Improving the quality of images captured by a laptop webcam. In addition, the integrated graphics are equipped with an AV1 hardware decoder.

The presented chips support DDR5, DDR4 and LPDDR5 RAM, eMMC flash memory, UFS 2.1 and NVMe solid state drives. Notebooks based on these processors offer support for the wireless data transmission standards Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.
