Intel Arc A370M Mobile Discrete Graphics participated in the First Ashes of the Singularity Gaming Test

The entry-level mobile discrete graphics card Intel Arc A370M from the Arc Alchemist series was noted in the first gaming test. The test platform was Ashes of the Singularity. For some reason, despite the lack of information, this test is still popular among reviewers and testers of new computing devices that are being prepared for official release.

The Ashes of the Singularity Gaming Test is by no means an accurate indicator of the performance of any particular graphics card or CPU. It also doesn’t offer a detailed view of the tested hardware. This case was no exception. The test database only states that the Arc A370M was tested with a laptop based on an Intel Core i7-12700H (Alder Lake) processor.

According to leaks and rumors, the Arc A370M is based on a full-fledged DG2-128EU graphics chip and is paired with 4GB of dedicated GDDR6 memory with a 64-bit interface. This is an entry-level card, so its performance is at best twice as fast as the Xe-LP integrated graphics on Alder Lake processors.

The speed of the graphics accelerator was tested twice, on the minimum graphics settings, at a resolution of 1080p and using the graphics API DirectX 11. In the tests, the graphics card scored 3500 and 3600 points and showed an average number of frames per second at 36.9 or 38.3 fps. This result shows once again that Ashes of the Singularity is far from the most suitable environment for testing, since graphics cards of different price ranges score similarly many points here. For example, the desktop version of the GeForce RTX 3060, the integrated Vega graphics of the Ryzen 5 5600G processor, or even the desktop GeForce GTX 1050 have a similar indicator.

Conclusions about the speed of the Arc A370M graphics accelerator cannot be drawn from this test.
