“Infinitely better than the series”: Netflix has announced the animated film The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep with the voice of Geralt from “The Witchers” from CD Projekt RED

Streaming giant Netflix as part of the online festival Geeked Week 2023 demonstrated not only the release dates for the second season of Arcane, but also a new animated film in the Witcher universe.

The band is called The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep (“The Witcher: Call of the Deep”) and tells of the events between the fifth and sixth episodes of the first season of the Netflix series “The Witcher” (the story “A Little Sacrifice”).

In the story, the sorcerer Geralt of Rivia is hired to investigate a series of attacks in a coastal village, and as a result, the White Wolf becomes embroiled in a centuries-old conflict between ordinary residents and fishmen.

The character design in Call of the Deep is similar to the Witcher series – Yennefer and Buttercup are voiced by the same Anya Chalotra and Joey Batey – but Geralt speaks in a different, albeit familiar, voice.

Instead of Henry Cavill, who left the series after the third season, Doug Cockle – Geralt will play the role of the Witcher in the English version of The Witcher games from CD Projekt RED.

The audience responded positively to Call of the Deep Sea and was completely delighted with the decision to invite Kokla to the project. “The involvement of the original actor is what makes it [фильм] infinitely better than the series”believes Han_nya.

The Witcher: Call of the Deep is expected to premiere at the end of 2024. Production is being carried out by the South Korean studio Mir, known, among other things, for the animated film The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf for Netflix.
