Indian-origin iPhone shipments surged to $1 billion in the past 5 months and will continue to rise

The export volume of iPhones made in India on behalf of Apple has surpassed $1 billion in five months since April this year, suggesting the American company is ramping up production in a country that has long been trying to do so ready to become a major manufacturing center for Apple products to replace China.

Besides the domestic market, iPhones made in India are mainly shipped to Europe and the Middle East. Shipment volume is expected to continue growing and will total $2.5 billion by March 2023 based on 12-month results. That is almost twice as much as between April 2021 and March 2022.

Earlier this year, Apple started production of the iPhone 13 in India. Last month, the American company announced the start of production in the country of the new iPhone 14. According to the source, from April to August 2022, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models were shipped to world markets from India.
