Italian voice actor Pietro Ubaldi shared crumbly information about his character in the open-world action-adventure sequel The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in an interview with blogger Lega Hyrule.
In the Italian version of the original Breath of the Wild, Ubaldi voiced the great warrior Daruk. As it became known, the artist returned to his role in the sequel and also voiced the ancestor of the Goron champion. followed by spoiler.
At the end of Breath of the Wild, Daruk goes to another world, so his appearance in the sequel would look strange. The mention of an unknown ancestor inspired the fan community to form theories.
Thus, the mysterious ancestor could be a warrior who controlled the mechanical monster Va-Rudania in battle against Ganon 10,000 years before the events described in Breath of the Wild. 100 years before them, the giant machine was piloted by Daruk himself.
In trailers for the previously untitled Breath of the Wild sequel, the protagonist Link appears in two versions – normal and with long hair. Fans saw this as a hint that some of the game will unfold in the distant past.
In the original Breath of the Wild, Link regularly experiences flashbacks that take the hero back to the events of 100 years ago, and in essence, games of time are nothing new for the series.
Due to the recent postponement, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel is expected to release exclusively on Nintendo Switch in Spring 2023. Additional time is used to make the game “something special”.
