Portal Videocardz noticed to the strange pricing strategy of the major American retailer MicroCenter in relation to some AMD processors.

The fact is that currently on the MicroCenter website you can buy the Ryzen 9 7900X processor cheaper than the Ryzen 9 7900. It is also interesting that 32 GB of DDR5-6000 RAM comes with a more powerful processor, the cost of which is around $150. The Ryzen 9 7900’s only advantage is the stock Wraith Prism cooler, but the more powerful processor with 32 GB of RAM still looks more attractive.
The source notes that the cost of Ryzen 7000 processors in different stores can vary significantly right now. How much the upcoming Ryzen 7000X3D processor will cost does not seem to be known to retailers yet. At the same time, the flagship Ryzen 7950X with 16 cores in the US now costs more than it did two months ago. We’re not talking about a sharp price increase, but it doesn’t seem that AMD has no intention of reducing the cost of the flagship processor.
