In the US, Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards are already selling an average of 5% above the recommended price, with some even cheaper.

The popular YouTube channel HardwareUnboxed shared new price statistics for graphics accelerators in the US. The author notes that the cost of GeForce RTX 30 series and Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards continues to decrease. At the same time, the costs for the latter are on average only 5% higher than the recommended prices.

In some cases, Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards are sold even cheaper than the recommended price. We are talking about the Radeon RX 6900XT, RX 6600XT and RX 6500XT models. At the same time, the Radeon RX 6800 series accelerators are still 31% more expensive than the recommended prices. Without the influence of this factor, the average cost of the entire current series of Radeon accelerators would be only 2.4% higher than the recommended one. At one of America’s largest electronics stores, Newegg, prices for Radeon RX 6000 graphics cards fell from 6% to 8% over the month.

With NVIDIA accelerators, the situation is even worse. Although GeForce RTX 30-series cards in the same Newegg also fell 6% in price over the month, they’re still selling at a 24% premium over the recommended price. However, there are exceptions here too. For example, the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti is on sale this month for a suggested $1,200.

As already mentioned, the sharp fall in the price of accelerators in the medium and low price segment is causing problems for NVIDIA. For this reason, the company will release the GeForce GTX 1630 model, which will replace the old GeForce GTX 1050 Ti.

It is very likely that NVIDIA will soon change tactics, which will lead to an even more serious drop in graphics card prices. This allows you to quickly sell off current stock in time for the release of the new generation of GeForce RTX 40-series accelerators.
