On Monday, June 20, on his personal microblog Bowen released (but since deleted) a short video showing the artist in the parking lot of Warner Bros. Studio.

In the background of the video, a composition sounds suspiciously similar to Mortal Kombat 2’s title theme and the following words: “Any deadly technique. It’s a bitter fight.”.

journalists and fans saw Bowen’s video as a direct reference to the Mortal Kombat sequel. The new installment hasn’t been officially announced, but is rumored to be the next project from NetherRealm Studios.

Mortal Kombat 11 debuted in April 2019 and has since sold over 12 million copies worldwide. In July 2021, NetherRealm confirmed it had moved to its upcoming game.
