We’re talking about Deputy Jefferson Perales running for mayor of Night City. The NPC takes part in the Guardians of Disorder and Bunraku quests, at the end of which he suddenly disappears and breaks all ties with the main character.

For some players, this finale in Perales history didn’t seem quite over. Users have speculated that the character fell victim to tight development times and will continue his story in the upcoming DLC.

While answering questions from fans on a recent stream, Sasko confirmed the political storyline is complete. Also, the team originally conceived it exactly as it turned out.

According to Sasko, the Perales arc was designed by Cyberpunk 2077 Senior Quest Designer Patrick Mills. It was he who suggested ending the story “Legal uncertainty and many troubling questions among players”.

“I’m glad we made it”Sasko closed. Judging by the interest of the community, CD Projekt RED coped with the task of captivating players: questions about the future fate of Perales haunt them to this day.

The Cyberpunk 2077 add-on Phantom Liberty will be released in 2023 on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store), PS5, Xbox Series X and S. The development of the add-on has reached the final stage: more than 350 people are involved in the expansion.
