Chinese telecom giant Huawei has unveiled a teaser announcing the preparation of a new flexible display smartphone – the P50 Pocket New device in the clamshell form factor.
Keep in mind that the original P50 Pocket model (in the first picture) debuted late last year. The device is equipped with a flexible 6.9-inch screen with a resolution of 2790 × 1188 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. On the outside of the case is a 1-inch (340 × 340 pixels) round auxiliary display. The equipment includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and 8/12 GB RAM.
For some reason, the upcoming P50 Pocket New model is missing an external screen. It is known that the smartphone will receive an improved camera system using XMAGE technologies, which should improve image quality in various shooting conditions. The operating system is HarmonyOS 3.
Rumor has it that the original version of the device will inherit the Snapdragon 888 chip without 5G support. The refresh rate of the flexible display will be 120 Hz as before.
The P50 Pocket New Smartphone is shown in the teaser in white and black color options. It is known that modifications with a flash drive with a capacity of 256 and 512 GB will go on sale. The first costs around $720, the second around $1000. Apparently, these versions will differ in the amount of RAM.
