Huawei introduces MatePad Air tablet – Snapdragon 888, 11.5-inch 144Hz screen and price starting at $410

Huawei has presented a new tablet computer MatePad Air to the general public. The device features powerful hardware and a 2.8K variable refresh rate display.

The developers equipped the tablet with an 11.5-inch IPS display that supports a resolution of 2880 × 1840 pixels and a refresh rate of 30 to 144 Hz. The panel occupies 87% of the front surface of the case. There is an 8 megapixel front camera. On the back of the case is a 13-megapixel main camera.

The hardware basis of the novelty was the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 eight-core microprocessor, which is made using the 5 nm manufacturing process and one Cortex-X1 core with a frequency of up to 2.8 GHz, three Cortex-A78 cores with a frequency from combined up to 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A78 cores. A55 up to 1.8GHz. The Adreno 660 accelerator is responsible for graphics processing. Buyers can choose between versions of the device with 8 or 12 GB of RAM and a 128, 256 or 512 GB hard drive. Autonomy offers an 8300 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 40 watts.

The sound system includes four stereo speakers. Integrated Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/ac/ax and Bluetooth 5.2 adapters ensure wireless connectivity. HarmonyOS 3.1 is used as the software platform. The MatePad Air version with 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM costs $412, while the variant with 12GB RAM and 512GB costs $639.
