At the World VR Industry 2022, Huawei presented the intelligent glasses Vision Glass. The model is intended to be used as an additional screen in conjunction with a smartphone or other device capable of displaying images or videos.
The model received MicroOLED displays with a resolution of 1080p for each eye (1920 × 1080 pixels each) and brightness of 480 cd/m²2. The screen can display 90% of the DCI-P3 color space and has been certified by the German organization TÜV Rheinland for its high protection against harmful blue light. Screen sizes are not specified, but the user will receive an analogue of a 140-inch panel.
Externally, Vision Glass looks a lot more like ordinary glasses than wearable VR devices made by companies like Meta.*. On the left is a port for connecting a smartphone. Some messages mention the possibility of correcting myopia glasses, but this information requires additional confirmation.
It is important that the model does not have an integrated chipset or drive and it is also not possible to connect an external hard drive or SSD. The device is an additional screen for smartphones, tablets or computers. Battery capacity is not specified, but the device will still be able to work autonomously for some time.
Price for new items will be announced later. Huawei Vision Glass will go on sale in December. We add that already at the end of last year Huawei presented the Smart Glasses model with the Harmony OS operating system, but without displays.
