HP has announced the upcoming release of the HP Dev One Notebook, developed in partnership with System76. The novelty is intended for developers and runs on Pop!_OS, a free, open-source Linux distribution. HP has a long history of building Linux-based laptops such as B. the earlier Linux-based HP ZBook G7, which is aimed at developers.

The new HP Dev One model is based on the AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5000 series processor. The laptop is equipped with a 14-inch display with Full HD resolution and anti-reflective coating, has on board up to 16 GB of DDR4 RAM with a frequency of 3200 MHz, 1 TB of PCIe NVMe M.2 memory (995.3 GB available to the user).
According to phoronix.com, the specs are pretty good, and an AMD Ryzen processor with Radeon graphics will surely appeal to many users of the open-source Linux platform over the Intel + NVIDIA chip solutions on the market. Unless 16GB of RAM might not be enough for developers.
HP Dev One starts at $1099. The release date of the device will be announced a little later.
