HP has introduced two new Elite series laptops with Chrome OS. The HP Elite c640 G3 and HP Elite c645 G2 Chromebook models are designed for business users. The former is based on 12th generation Intel Core processors, the latter uses AMD Ryzen 5000C chips.

Both laptops are equipped with 14-inch screens, 5-megapixel webcams with shutters, noise-cancelling microphones and speakers, support the Wi-Fi 6E wireless data transmission standard and also offer 4G LTE support as an option.
HP Elite c640 G3 Chromebook
The HP Elite c640 G3 Chromebook is ready to offer Intel Celeron, Pentium, Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors of the Alder Lake generation as a base. The HP Elite c645 G2 Chromebook, on the other hand, features Ryzen 3, Ryzen 5, and Ryzen 7 chips from the latest Ryzen 5000C series, which are optimized for Chromebooks and offer two to eight processing cores.
HP Elite c640 G3 Chromebook
In general, the characteristics of both laptops are the same. The model based on Intel processors is distinguished by the presence of two Thunderbolt 4.0 ports (USB Type-C). The AMD-based model also has USB Type-C ports, but they don’t have Thunderbolt support.
HP Elite c645 G2 Chromebook
The set of external interfaces of new products is represented by HDMI 2.0 connectors, USB Type-A and 3.5mm audio jacks. In addition, each model received a microSD memory card reader. Equipment with a fingerprint scanner, a multifunctional card reader and an HP Sure View Reflect screen is optionally available. The latter has small viewing angles, which should protect the laptop owner from prying eyes on the display.
HP Elite c645 G2 Chromebook
Both laptops can offer 1920×1080 pixels touch and regular displays, up to 16GB LPDDR4x onboard RAM and multiple storage options including a 64GB eMMC module or 128GB, 256GB or 512GB SSD.
The Intel-based HP Elite c640 G3 Chromebook will go on sale in mid-May. The laptop will start at $509. The Ryzen 5000C based HP Elite c645 G2 will go on sale in June starting at $559.
