HP has announced the updated Elitebook 805 laptops, which feature the latest AMD Ryzen Pro 6000 series processors, as well as screens with an aspect ratio of 16:10, a little more than the standard 16: 9. In parallel, the manufacturer announced a new notebook -Series Elitebook 605, which includes two other cheaper models.
The Elitebook 805 G9 series is represented by three models: 835, 845 and 865, which are equipped with displays with a diagonal of 13.3, 14 and 16 inches respectively. Regardless of the screen size selected, new elements can be configured with almost the same parameters. The difference is that the smaller version of the device supports the installation of up to 16 GB DDR5 RAM, while the remaining models can be equipped with up to 64 GB RAM. In addition, the 14- and 16-inch versions of the device have slots for RAM, which means that the user can change the memory modules independently if necessary, while this is not possible with the younger version.
HP advises that the updated EliteBook 805 G9 with “Latest AMD Ryzen Multi-Core Processors”, but no specific models are mentioned. We only know that these are processors of the Ryzen Pro 6000 series, which are similar in basic parameters to the consumer Ryzen 6000. Which models of new AMD processors will be available in the Elitebook 805 G9 laptops will be revealed at the start of sales.
Laptops use panels with an aspect ratio of 16:10 and support a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels (availability of touch controls is not specified). All models are equipped with WLAN modules Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 as well as PCIe Gen 4 x4 solid state drives with capacities of up to 2 TB. In terms of the available interfaces, we are talking about two USB 3.0 ports, a pair of USB4 Type-C and HDMI 2.0, a combined headphone and microphone connection.
Depending on the screen size and the selected configuration, a battery with 38, 51 or 76 watt hours is used as the power source. HP offers new Ryzen processors “Impressive battery life” as well as “Incredible Performance”…
At the same time, HP announced cheaper versions of the Elitebook 605 G9: the models 645 and 655, which are equipped with 14- and 16.5-inch displays with an aspect ratio of 16: 9. The hardware is based on older processors from the AMD Ryzen 5000 series. As far as the available interfaces are concerned, we’re talking about a Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 port, HDMI, Ethernet, three USB Type A 3.1 Gen1 ports and a combined headset jack. Both models support up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM and can come with an optional NVMe PCIe Gen 3 drive, while the primary is PCIe Gen 4 x4.
According to reports, the Elitebook 645 and 655 notebooks will go on sale this month, while the Elitebook 805 G9 won’t hit the market until April. The cost of new products will be announced closer to the start of sales.
