Striking Distance released its debut game, The Callisto Protocol, last month to moderate critical acclaim. Sales of the project were lower than publisher Krafton had anticipated.

According to a report by Yonhap News Agency saysthat the game cost 196 billion won ($138 million) to develop. That’s a very large budget for a project of this nature. However, the authors of The Callisto Protocol previously said themselves that this is an AAAA-level game.
As a result, some Krafton investors have lowered their price targets. And Samsung Securities, an analytics firm, said it previously forecast annual sales of 5 million copies of the Callisto Protocol but now believes it will be difficult to reach 2 million copies. It was also backed by Korea Investment & Securities, which lowered expectations to 2.1 million copies from 4 million.
New content is coming to The Callisto Protocol this year, including a paid story add-on (this summer).
The Callisto Protocol is available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
