“Hope They Fix It”: Old Texture Issue Returned To PS4 After Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.3

On the December 10, 2020 release, Cyberpunk 2077 was in poor technical condition on the previous generation consoles. Then one of the frequent problems was the slow loading of textures – at first low-poly objects and models appeared in the frame, which came back to normal only after a few seconds. Later, the developers fixed this defect, but it returned after the August 1.3 patch.

Forum visitor Reddit under the pseudonym yabaitanidehyousu posted a video in which he entered the workshop of one of the rippers. At first, the video is replete with “soapy” objects, and some of them are completely absent. Then, right before the user’s eyes, details begin to appear: the table, the monitor, and the signs in the background. The character model also began to display correctly only after ten seconds.

Commenters on Reddit have confirmed the issue is urgent. After patch 1.3 on the base PS4 and PS4 Pro, textures really started to load badly. According to some users, now the situation is even worse than at the release. One of the players wrote: “I hope they fix it.” Others are ironic about the project and the developers, judging by the humorous comments.

Recall: CD Projekt RED is working on the first expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. It is being created by a team of 160 people, but other details have not yet been announced.
