Honor 80 Pro and Honor 80 introduced – both got 160MP cameras, and the older one also got Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with lower frequencies

Honor introduced the Honor 80 Pro, Honor 80 and Honor 80 SE smartphones. The first two new products are based on Qualcomm chipsets, equipped with 160-megapixel cameras and curved OLED displays. The cheapest model of the series – Honor 80 SE – uses the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset and is equipped with a 64 MP camera.

The older Honor 80 Pro got a 6.78-inch curved OLED screen with a resolution of 2700×1224 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and support for 10-bit color. The novelty is equipped with a dual front camera consisting of a 50-megapixel sensor and a 2-megapixel scene depth sensor. The front camera can record 4K videos at 30 fps. The Honor 80 model received a more compact 6.67-inch curved OLED display with support for a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. On the front of the device there is a 32-megapixel camera eye, which in 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second.

At the heart of the Honor 80 Pro is Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, with slightly slimmed-down specs. Its most powerful Cortex-X2 core operates at a frequency of 3.0 GHz instead of the 3.2 GHz specified by the manufacturer. The three Cortex-A710 cores work at 2.5 GHz instead of the standard 2.75 GHz. Four power-saving Cortex-A510 cores work at a standard frequency of 1.8 GHz.

The Honor 80 is powered by the mid-range Snapdragon 782G chipset announced yesterday, which is a slightly overclocked Snapdragon 778G+ processor. It includes a Cortex-A78 core clocked at 2.7GHz (200MHz faster than the Snapdragon 778G+), three Cortex-A78 cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz, and four Cortex-A55 cores clocked at up to 1.9GHz .

The Honor 80 Pro and Honor 80 smartphones received triple rear cameras. Honor uses an updated Image Engine AI technology in both smartphones, with a more efficient image processing system and more advanced AI RAW algorithms. An updated AI vlog mode is also announced with an expanded number of different settings for on-the-go streaming.

Both devices run MagicOS 7 based on Android 12. Smartphones received 4800mAh batteries supporting 66W fast charging. New items for sale will be available in black, green, blue and pink colors.

The main camera unit of the Honor 80 SE consists of a 64-megapixel main module (f/1.8), a 5-megapixel sensor for wide-angle photography (f/2.2) and a 2-megapixel sensor for macro photography (f/ 2.4). For the main camera system, the possibility of shooting in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second is explained. The Honor 80 SE is based on the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset with two Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2 GHz. The smartphone received a 4600mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging. Honor 80 SE will come in black, blue, pink as well as crystal design.
