Honkai: Star Rail hits 20 million downloads on day one and tops the charts

HoYoverse announced that the shareware sci-fi role-playing game Honkai: Star Rail has been downloaded over 20 million times in the first 24 hours. According to this indicator, the novelty bypassed Genshin Impact, the previous project from the same developer.

In the social network Weibo, the company thanked all players for their support and promised to give users ten units of the “Special Star Pass” as a token of appreciation. In addition, Honkai: Star Rail will hold a launch ceremony.

In the same post, HoYoverse noted that Honkai: Star Rail has arrived “fantastic” results and topped the charts in many countries and regions. Even before the release, the game has collected 30 million pre-registrations.

Honkai: Star Rail is a spin-off of Honkai Impact 3approx, a turn-based RPG set in the sci-fi universe of Honkai. The game features characters familiar to fans, but they have been heavily modified. According to the plot, the heroes embark on a space journey on the Star Express, stopping on the way in different worlds full of secrets of unknown civilizations and interesting stories.

Honkai: Star Rail is now available for PC, iOS and Android. The game will later be released on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
