Two months have passed since the online shooter Counter-Strike 2 was officially announced. After the release of an overview note and three videos with significant changes, the developers are in no hurry to reveal new details about the game. Valve’s esports partners have volunteered to provide media support for the sequel.

A video about Counter-Strike 2 has appeared on the official channel of the international eSports organization ESL, which is said to be dedicated to the innovations of the shooter. The cover, the announcer’s voice, the text description and the first few seconds of the video create a quite serious atmosphere.
An unprepared viewer might even think that ESL is really about to tell something new about the next-gen online shooter. But it soon becomes clear that the latest innovation-themed video is just a harmless attempt to poke fun at Valve’s promotional methods.
To emulate the style of Valve’s commercials, the ESL content creators have rolled out a handpicked set of gags about the new engine’s potential: invisibility camouflage for campers, car reinforcements, destructible walls, Team Fortress 2 cannons, and more.
Ironically, in the attached comment below the video, ESL said: “haters say it’s fake”. But the redesigned poster at the end of the video serves as a clear reference for the most boring and gullible. Say, “It’s all a joke, don’t care”.
In the comments below the video, users recognized ESL’s efforts and even offered their ideas for new mechanics for Counter-Strike 2. Someone suggested adding side quests, and someone badly needed an in-game radio station.
Counter-Strike 2 is scheduled for release in the summer of 2023, and the shooter’s closed beta testing began in March.
