Developers from the GSC Game World studio shared new details about the highly anticipated post-apocalyptic open-world shooter STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl with the Chinese portal GamerSky.
As GSC pointed out, the plot in STALKER 2 is non-linear – its direction is determined by the player – so there is no definitive completion time, but the main story lasts around 40 hours.
The central plot has four endings. Side quests will also have alternative completion options and influence the main story. You won’t be able to see all of the narrative content in one sitting.
The gameplay is intended to be hardcore – players will be introduced to the main systems, but there will be no explicit tips. Players must survive: specifically, bandaging wounds to stop the bleeding.
The game features stealth with secret finishing moves with a knife, weapon modifications (you have to find special NPCs) and their properties, rare “weapons” (including those from science fiction) and the ability to use the environment in battle.
On Xbox consoles, the authors want to achieve 60 fps in performance mode (there will also be a quality mode), and the final system requirements for PCs will be announced shortly before release – they want to leave the GTX 1060 at the “minimum level”.
STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl is expected to premiere in the first quarter of 2024 on PC (Steam, GOG, EGS, Microsoft Store), Xbox Series X, S and Game Pass. Now the game is in the polishing phase, but the exact release date of GSC cannot be announced yet.
