GPD to Release GPD-XP Android Game Console with Modular Design

GPD, known for its compact computers, is preparing to release another novelty – a very curious gadget called GPD-XP. We are talking about a portable game console running the Android operating system.

The main feature of the device is the use of a modular system of plug-in controllers. Owners will be able to change the control boxes in the side, say, to work with games of different genres.

The novelty will receive a 6.81-inch display with support for touch control. Power will be provided by a rechargeable battery with a capacity of 7000 mAh.

It is planned to use one of the MediaTek processors as a hardware platform. It can be a Helio G95 chip for gaming-grade smartphones or a Dimensity 900 solution. In any case, the built-in modem will provide the ability to transfer data over the cellular network. By the way, it is not planned to implement the functionality of traditional telephony.

It is known that the equipment of the gadget will include 6 GB of RAM and a flash drive with a capacity of 128 GB. It is planned to release control units with a classic game layout and a simplified vertical row of buttons.
