Google Pixel 8 Pro gets a triple camera and an infrared thermometer

Google Pixel 8 smartphones are expected to launch in the fall and it seems that the manufacturer has decided to keep the camera packaging scheme used in the current Pixel 7 for them. As before, the Pro model receives a more extensive set than the base model, as the resource found out. Android authority.

The Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro launched last year feature the same main cameras based on Samsung Isocell GN1 sensors. The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro will feature a more advanced 50-megapixel Isocell GN2 sensor that captures 35% more light with a shorter exposure time. This means that the quality of images in low light conditions improves and blurry images are reduced.

Ultra wide-angle cameras for smartphones will be different. The base Pixel 8 gets a Sony IMX386 sensor, carried over from the Pixel 6, while the Pixel 8 Pro has a 64-megapixel IMX787 sensor, which is also used in the main camera of the budget Pixel 7A. At the same time, the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro expand the field of view of the wide-angle camera: the first from 0.67x to 0.55x and the second from 0.55x to 0.49x. The Pixel 8 Pro’s telephoto lens again gets a 5x optical zoom and a 48MP Samsung sensor. The 11-megapixel Samsung sensor on the front camera is also retained.

Finally, the source confirmed that the Google Pixel 8 Pro will come with a non-contact infrared thermometer.
