Access to the guide “More information about repairing pixels” is geographically restricted – users from France can read it. If you’re surfing from another part of the world, it says “Sorry, page not found”.

The site says the user can use the instructions to try to fix or service the smartphone. In fact, the document is a step-by-step guide to repairing a damaged Pixel smartphone using original parts, which allows you to disassemble and reassemble the smartphone and replace faulty parts.Extend the life of your smartphone and protect the environment“.

Developers warn that self-repair of devices can both endanger the safety of users and damage the device. Self-repair is only recommended by independent workshops or by experienced users.

The instructions are quite detailed. According to the 9to5google portal, the materials for the Pixel 7 are 173 pages, for the Pixel 7 Pro – 197 pages, there are diagrams and photos of assembly / disassembly of gadgets, one of the sections lists common problems with binding to components. It is noteworthy that the direct link allows you to download PDF instructions in French, regardless of the region.

It should be remembered that from 2021 France will require manufacturers of smartphones and other devices such as laptops and televisions to publish a “repair index” on a ten-point scale. One of the evaluation criteria is the availability of repair documentation. According to the iFixIt portal, such documentation includes all data provided by the manufacturer, including serial numbers, assembly and disassembly diagrams and similar information, technical instructions, software, etc.

Outside of France, however, you can contact us Portal iFixItPartnership with Google. There, too, there are some repair guides for the main components and they even sell original parts.
